The sowing campaign starts in the Tomsk region, the press service of the regional administration said on Wednesday. This year, the farms will increase the sowing of cabbage, cereals and legumes.
In general, the area of arable land in the Tomsk region will increase by almost 1.5%. It is specified that a quarter of the planted potatoes and grain will be original and elite varieties.
“For the upcoming sowing farms of the municipality, they fully provided themselves with potato planting material and grain seeds (23% of them are original and elite), purchased more than 9.1 thousand tons of mineral and 88.5 thousand tons of organic fertilizers, signed contracts for the supply of chemical plant protection products," the administration specified.
The readiness of equipment for sowing is 90%.
