In 2015, agricultural producers of the Tomsk region sold peas and rapeseed to the Netherlands for the first time, Olga Vedernikova, head of the department for supervision in the field of plant quarantine, grain quality and seed control of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, told RIA Tomsk.
“In 2015, 1,747 tons of peas and 279 tons of rapeseed were sent to the Netherlands through Belarus,” she said. According to Vedernikova, the choice of the Dutch fell on Tomsk peas because of its high quality — it was grown without pesticides and agrochemicals.
She also added that in addition to peas, Tomsk enterprises for the first time last year began supplying bran to Mongolia and ice cream to China. According to her, in 2016 it is planned to continue cooperation in all three areas
